"An engrossing, well-plotted mystery with intriguing characters and a spectacular White Mountain setting. The Hidden Mountain keeps its secrets, and the reader guessing!"
Donna Urey, White Birch Books
"Thoroughly enjoyable... a great yarn. I learned a bit about some places that I never knew before. I can see it as a great Hollywood movie."
Jack Middleton, Mount Washington Observatory
What a super book
Ranks right up there with P.D.James, which is (from me) the ultimate compliment... Having hiked the Presidentials and run up Mt. Washington several times I have a special affinity to the area which increased my enjoyment while reading and trying to envision the areas you were talking about. The bottom line though is that you kept me thoroughly entertained and engrossed in trying to figure out who was the villain. Just when it looked like things were getting all tidied up you'd pull another surprise...great job. Thanks heaps.
P.S. I read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Burned the midnight oil on that baby.
Just finished the book. Found it to be very entertaining.
After having just finished a week of hiking in the Whites it was very interesting to read this novel. One of the locations we visited was Sawyer Pond and the author caught the location perfectly.
Excellent mystery with scenic White Mountain setting
A very enjoyable book that was hard to put down. Exciting mystery with believable characters and added bonus of the White Mountains setting.
More than a mystery - an adventure in the White Mountains!
A well-crafted story with thoroughly developed and believable characters in an original and intriguing situation, all set in the refreshing White Mountains of New Hampshire. Tops in story- telling on many fronts!
An absorbing tale, mystery/suspense, in the White Mountains
I read one fiction book a year, but this one kept me up till 2:00 AM to finish it. It caught my eye because I grew up in New England. This story is laid in the White Mountains, involves an Indian legend, and features an out-of-shape city dweller whom I could identify with. His metamorphosis into a fit hiker/camper while he traces a mysterious death and cryptic message and falls in love with a mystery woman who may do him in makes great reading -- and the ending caught me completely by surprise. If you like the outdoors and enjoy mysteries, here's a book you won't want to miss!
